I think my deck was built when the house was built (97-98). The ends are starting to come apart.

I got a deck company to come look and they have quoted me a price to replace the rails/sides. The deck structure will not change just three new sides.

Does that sort of change have to go through the HOA? I just want to make sure to follow the rules before making any changes.

    Thanks

    Mike

Mike, when in doubt, submit an application. If/when approved, you'll get a letter that you can file away and there won't be any issues down the road. I always suggest to people to file the application, regardless of how mundane the change. Either way, you'll get your answer and an official letter entitling you to some peace of mind ;)

    Mike,

No, you do not need to submit an application for maintaining an existing structure if using the same material(s). If you modify the original structure, then yes, an application would be required.

    Thanks for asking!

Can I ask the name of the company? I need to do the same thing.
