I have a freezer in my garage that I have not used in a few years (we had a power outage some time back and I never plugged it back in to restock it). For all I know it works fine, but doesn't have a place in my new home.

Can I just roll it to the curb on Thursdays? Does Someone want it? Do I need to have soemone special come and take it away?

    Thanks in advance.

Be careful if you put it out on the curb. It's dangerous, as some kids may consider it an opportunity to open the door and hide in it. It can become impossible to open with the vacuum seal and the kid can become trapped. It's happened, not good.

If you do put it out on the curb take the door off of it first.

Thanks, I'll be sure to do that; but do I need to do anything special with the trash company? Or just set it out?

I'm interested in hearing what do to with it as well. I have an old dorm room sized fridge that hasn't worked in years that I need to get out of my storage room.

If it works, try freecycle or post on craigslist first - its likely that someone would come pick it up and keep it out of the landfill...

Call Patriot at 1-703-257-7100 for a "special item pickup". We had a refrigerator picked up a couple of weeks back (on a Wednesday - not sure if that is the standard pickup day, but they can let you know). You just have to have the appliance out curbside the night before and they will pick it up early.
