Need Advice Bakery that makes awesome cakes that are not insanely expensive

I'd like a hand decorated cake for my son's birthday - something where I have more options.... I love Wegmans cakes and will happily go back but wanted to see if perhaps there were any great ideas out there for a bakery. I am hoping for a Captian America type design.

I'd recommend Simply Cakes by Allison. She has made a couple of cakes for friends that were delicious and creative.

She is very professional and makes all kinds of cakes from birthday cakes to baby shower cakes to bridal shower cakes, etc. She also teaches cake and decorating classes at AC Moore (so you know she must be good!).
