I need some help scanning photographs. I am trying to find someone with good scanning equipment (maybe a professional doing side work - or even a high school kid with good skills).

I have a small collection of photographs (4x6) where I can not find negatives so my best bet is to scan them so I can have them digitally. I really want to get them converted so I can finally have access to them on the PC.

I have a total of about 60 pictures and I am willing to pay a fair price (and yes I can negotiate payment in either dollars of beer!). I am hoping that there is someone locally so can deal with them directly since this is not a large quantity and I really need to get this done ASAP.

I am open to suggestions for ways to get this done so let me know.

    Thanks - Dave

I think Costco Photo can convert pics to a digital format. Haven't used them for this but my sister did all of hers in order to have them saved in her computer.

Walgreens has a self-serve scanner. They'll make you a photo cd for $2 or $3... can't remember. We used the one on Belmont Ridge Road and were very happy.

Thanks for the tips... and no Costco does not scan Prints to DVD... according to the Sterling Costco Photo Center.

I will check Walgreens, that sounds like it has potential. Also, just found a bunch (about 10) 3.5" Floppy discs full of pictures. Of course I do not have a Floppy drive any more, but hey, I am sure I can find one of those in the basement too!

If Walgreens doesn't work out, let me know and I will make my husband do it for you. :) He recently finished scanning all of his parents old photo albums as well as a bunch of old slides he found. He has gotten really good and fast at it, even color corrects the images. :)
