Police/Ambulance at Clairborne/Broadlands Blvd.

    I recently drove by this intersection and there is police activity at townhomes near here. A deputy I ran into a few minutes later was reluctant to tell me what happened, but said it was not good, possibly a fatal event. Anyone have any information?

    It could not have been good. Claiborne was shut between Vestals and Broadlands Blvd. I counted 4 ambulances and the truck for the Fire-Rescue Chief. I think three sheriffs cars and a life flight helicopter.

    A 26 year old inflicted a gun shot wound to the head in the parking area in front of the townhouses on the corner. They shut down Claiborne between Broadlands and Vestals because they were going to helicopter him out. They cancelled the helicopter...I don't think that is a good sign.;(

    did this happen last night or during the day today??? hubby swore he heard a gunshot last night around 11 or so...

    I honestly don't know when it occurred but believe he was still alive when they found him. Don't take that as gospel. I just assumed that by the fact that they were planning to airlift him out that he was still alive. I know they cancelled the helicopter. My assumption would be the worst, yet again, they could have taken him by ambulance.

    I heard something about 11 last night also. I thought it was a firework though.
    Sad whatever the case is. :(

    He committed suicide in his car in the parking space in front of his home with a gun. (I'm a neighbor) It was horrible, please keep his family in your prayers.

    How sad that he felt this was the only way out of whatever troubles he may have had. :-( I'm so sorry for him and his famiy. I will be praying for them.
