How to sell woodworking tools?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Trying to clear out a workshop located in Kenosha, WI.

    I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of a surplus place or similar in that area that might take this as a lot or sell on ebay for a commission?

    Have you considered a place like www . 877isoldit . com where you can drop off the items and they handle posting them on eBay, selling them and take a cut of the sale? They have a location in Kenosha; at least seems that they do - I can't confirm that with what I'm seeing online.

    I have personally never used such a service, nor do I know of anyone who has. I have seen a couple of these stores in different places. As usual, do your research before committing...

    I used to be quite involved and bought many tools by classified ads. In terms of turning over to a consignor, I would first try contacting the local woodworking clubs. You have a treasure trove of good tools and they will be of high interest. A club may be willing to take the lot or sell for a commission.     There is one in Milwaukee and another in Madison and a number in the Chicago area. All have links and email addresses. I suggest sending an email to each and see what they say.
