Went to Hudson's this week for dinner. It is where Pizza go round used to be, Five Guys, Pollo Chicken. I was thinking at least there is outdoor seating and wanted to really like it.

Menu was very limited for an American Grill place. At first I thought hey maybe they are focusing on small menu for good quality. Wrong. Impression:

    - Carpaccio, over-seasoned with lemon to the point of yuck
    - Steak Salad, I asked for just vinegar and oil, typically they bring it out to you to dress yourself but they did it for me and it was non-existent.
    - Chicken Salad, was just okay. Nothing fancy.
    - Chili was good. Not great but best thing we got that night.
    - Crab and asparagus soup, mostly asparagus, hardly any crab, barely seasoned.

Wait staff not overly enthused (we were like one of three tables). No one asked how our meal was after we got it. Took forever to get a check. True, we could have asked for a manager, which we did not. I was just tired at that point. I wouldn't waste my money there. I am not a fan of Glory Days food but would take it over Hudson's.

I noticed on the way home that Hudson's signs are gone.

They closed at least 2 weeks ago. I was picking up some food at The Pollo Factory and saw that the place was dark and had a small white sheet of paper taped on each door with some sort of notice on it. Figured they had closed up shop...

OK, I'm not a business owner. But how can anyone go into a business venture seemingly so ill-prepared as the repeated tenants of this location?

From what I've heard, the food and/or service was poor from both Hudson's & the previous tenant. These two places, and Otani before it, were only in business for a couple of months!

Is the rent really that high? Were the tenants totally unprepared to do business? It can't just be the location...or can it? Does anyone have any insight on these places as to why they've gone under so quickly?

Sign says "under construction, reopening under new management in September". That certainly didn't last long...

IMO, it is a very large pad site, with I am sure a hefty rent, for an "unknown" (no rep or brand to bank off of)) type of restaurant to open in.

That strip will never do anything until a light is installed. If it ever is. The Ford's Fish strip is always packed and it's hard to find a parking space in there. People can get in and out easier because of the light.

This space will soon be the new Vintage 51 brewpub and restaurant.
    Oh joy, oh joy!
