Yeah, hubby got an XBox for Christmas.

Currently using the standard cabling with RCA jacks into the HDTV (R/L/V).

Was wondering if anyone is running XBox on an HDTV and if there's an advantage to buying either the MSoft HD AV cable or Monster Cable? (This goes from the XBox to Component Video inputs [RGB] and digital audio.)

I've read that HD support is game specific - general concensus: are most games now HD compatible?

Will I really notice any difference?

It makes a big difference - regardless of HDTV or not. The digital sound, the component cables will increase the quality experience all around. Combine that with many games out - at least the major ones from the big companies - all support HDTV and Dolby Digital (THX or other) formats.. Its well worth it..!

I just bought an LCD HDTV and picked up the HDTV cable for my XBox on Friday. It made a world of difference. On NBA 2K5 I can see the reflections of the players on the court. My friends who have HDTV/XBox setups say that there is little to no difference in the picture quality between the MSFT cable and the Monster cable.

Okay...good to hear, and thanks. I'd much rather drop the $20 on the MSoft cable than $45 on the Monster if they are about the same.

Will order online today. How cool...Will patch the sound into the Bose system...probably scare the neighbor's dog.

definately buy the MSoft HD pack. The Monster pack uses a proprietary Optical cable connection that requires you to buy the Monster Optical cables (or so I was told).

The MSoft HD pack works very well. Big screen HD XBOX is quite remarkable.

He was looking at the live..but I'm sure he'd last about 30 seconds out there....

In many cases, we're still figuring out the controls.
