Can anyone recommend a child support / family matters attorney? Our's was awesome, but has retired since our last engagement with her. This involves a special needs child if anyone has specific experience with those challenges. Thanks in advance ...

Virginia has FREE "help" for child support. See http://www.dss.virginia.gov/family/dcse/index.cgi Also, if that isn't what you are looking for, the Office of Juvenile and Domestic Relations (or some such name) at the Loudoun County courthouse will walk you through the general process, even help you with the initial filing.

Any decent family lawyer is going to be in the $250 - $500/hour range which seemed high to me since VA basically just uses a calculator based upon very specific inputs with little deviation. (Of course, special needs adds to the complexity, but may also qualify you for more "support" on your proceeding from public resources.)
