We went tonight for one last dinner and apparently everyone was told only yesterday. It's a shame to lose them. Yes, the service is slow, but it's always a good place to take the kids and we get to watch some games too.

Bummer. Yes, the service was slow, but the kids loved it....and the Pittsburgher rocked!

Sorry to hear the news. My son is going to be so sad! Wish I would have known sooner so he could have used his Mill Run free meal coupon.

I *KNEW* they would go out of business. When I went there to eat dinner...the service AND food was horrible. Not the quality of service that I knew when I used to frequent the one in Burke when I was much younger then. I personally knew the owner and founder of Glory Days...

Each and every time I went there, the place looked DEAD to me. That's what clued me into the upcoming demise of this place. The one in Burke is still very much alive and hopping. Perhaps the franchisee could go there more frequently and learn what they do there that makes the place there successful and long-lasting.

We are sad as this was an easy fix for dinner out with the kids. Plenty for them to do while parents could visit and catch a game or two.

Soooo any idea what will take its place?

Any chance a Nordstrom's Rack? TJ Maxx? Please not another grocery store!!!!

Rumor has it a tire store is going in there. What a waste (it won't even have service bays). The took the two endcaps that were great for out door seating and put in a doctor's office and now probably an automotive place. I almost wish I had supported Glory Days (just not ordered food there).

    Nooooooooooooooooo..........ugh! A tire store? Crikey....

FWIW....Well, IMHO, GD wasn't doing well with customer service and the food that I bought there wasn't really that great as the one in Burke. I thought the food in Burke's GD was much tastier and of better quality.

They're gutting the place completely but they were told to keep the TV's. A lot of the kids were hoping this means another sports restaurant will be going in since the TV's are staying. I'm sure they'd be very bummed if it becomes a tire shop.

I would be rather surprised if the Tire shop would want that many TVs unless they are going to set up a Tire restaurant. Heh. Actually, wouldn't GD be selling everything inside the store to anyone that needed it unless new tenant asked for it?

Understand that a tire shop is going in on the parking lot (pad site) next to GD's - no new tenet yet for the GD Place.

That's what I was told too by a friend who works for Van Metre and is responsible for leasing the commercial space.

Interesting about keeping the tvs. When I drove by this morning, they were hauling out the booths already....... at 8:30am, not wasting any time.

i remember on the original plan--that pad next to GD was supposed to be a dunkin donuts....oh how that would've made my life even more complete. oh well :) If i'm going to that strip for dinner--it's to Rubino's anyway...Glory Days screwd up too many times with me to keep me coming back.

We hadn't been to GD in a couple of years because of the awful service (like everyone has mentioned). The food and menu options we really liked, also the setup and atmosphere. However, they killed themselves with such awful service. It would take often over an hour from when we entered to when our food arrived. The waiters would be standing around talking near the kitchen and nobody would even come by and let us know when the food would be coming out. Takeout was the same way. It's a shame as that was a nice place to take a family.

I do think that section of the center is bound to continue to see restaurants come and go (I believe four have already come and gone from that strip, right?). Just a strange location that most people outside of the Broadlands really aren't aware of. It definitely has hurt that the expected commercial development around it has not gone in and obviously tough to wait on Moorefield Station being developed.

Yeah, my son was sad too. That was 'our' hangout - the booth across from the flat screen. Food was so-so but he enjoyed it.

Time to find a new place...

Saw that a 'tire shop' is going in. Isn't there already two goodyear shops within a five mile radius (Ashburn village and off of Ashburn farm parkway by the old SFW )? How much rubber do we need? I'll take a Santini's instead :)

Hoping the tire place doesn't go in there but if it is opened up as another bar/restaurant, the outdoor seating next to a tire place will make for crappy scenery.
