At lunch today, a coworker reported that she'd been to Palio's which just opened in downtown Leesburg. She said it was very good, well priced, good homemade pasta and some gluten-free items. Just 2 reviews so far on yelp.com, but both of them made my mouth water:

I went there a few days after opening. It was delicious! I had the angel hair seafood pasta dish and it was mouth watering! I actually switched out the angel hair for wheat pasta.

I was advised to make a reservation (even though we went at 6pm) and I was glad I did!! When we left there was not an empty table so if you plan on going, call and make a reservation.

There is also a downstairs bar (upon entering) which had some high tables which were all taken as well.

Palio's is definitely a place I would visit again!!!

Had our first dinner last night at Palio's. I have to say the food was amazing. Hubby had the special - a veal dish and I had a delicious clams vongole. Service was not quite there - had to chase a few things, and when hubby asked if he could substitute potatoes for risotto as a side option, he got a blunt no from the kitchen - potatoes or bust, if he wanted risotto, it would be served as an extra side and at a charge of $10!

What surprised me was the prices! No wine less than $35 a bottle and the veal special was $32 - since it's a special there was no pricing advertised, so we had a bit of sticker shock when the bill came.

On the whole, great ambiance and food, but I'm not sure I can stomach those prices, unless it's a special occasion.
