We have a Van Metre home built in 2004 that has white exterior vent covers with 3 plastic flaps. We have a few on the house, one is on the dryer vent. Has anyone had to replace their vent covers? 2 of ours are missing the flaps and we can't find either the replacement flaps or the whole vent cover itself.

    Thanks!

I ran into this issue on a home inspection list I needed to complete for repairs on the house and could not find a new cap. Try doing this, measure the width of the flaps and go to the hardware store of your choice and pick out a new exhaust bent that has same size flaps or larger. I the remove the flaps from the new one and one from the old one and use the old one to create a template to cut out of a new flap. I'll use a very sharp razor knife to cut the flap pivot points and sand any rough edges smooth. You now take your retro fitted flap in install it in the missing void. It works every time. Good luck! I actually went to Home Depot and brought the Deflect-o
Supurr-Vent Dryer Vent Hood for about $5. I took the louvers off the new and replaced the old, broken ones. Works great.
