Sign is up in the end unit at Goose Creek Village on Sycolin/Belmont Ridge Rd. It's the unit next to Pet Value with the great views. Seems a bit high end for what is essentially a strip mall, but I'll take it! What's next J Crew?

Opening is set for Dec 2012.

I am a very happy pescatarian at this news! :2thumbs:

Re: Passion Fish Coming to Ashburn

wow! might so well here since we don't have a saturation of seafood places, just bonefish and ford's fish shack, right?

The sign on the door actually says Passion Fin Asian Bistro and Sushi Bar - from the same owners of Sake Steakhouse in Laurel, Fuji Sushi in Bel Air, and Passion Fin in Bethesda. I'm guessing they're not the same.

Re: Passion Fish Coming to Ashburn

Went to Passion Fin for dinner last night and was impressed. The food was good and our service was great. We got the vesuvious shrimp to start and it wasn't very hot (spice-wise), but the breading and sauce were lighter than the bang-bang shrimp at Bonefish, and we liked it. They got my order wrong, but quickly fixed it and we got to keep the dish they mistakenly brought out, so I'll be having basil chicken for lunch today :)

Went last night...by far the best sushi in Ashburn! Excellent rolls, solid drinks, and great service. So glad to finally have a top notch place out here.

We had a group lunch at Passion Fin yesterday and everyone enjoyed it, the food and service were both very good. The decor and food presentation make this place stand out from the other local sushi options. I thought it would be quiet for a weekday lunch hour but it was relatively busy given the sleepy shopping center. Give it a try!

Tried it for the first time Friday night. The food was definitely good. The rolls were good, but the sushi (fish on rice) that we had was excellent - if there is a next time, we will order more sushi and less rolls. The kids Hibachi meals were also pretty good.

That said, while our server was pretty good, the waits may prevent us from going back, at least with kids We called ahead, and put our name on the list and were told 15 minutes. We arrived right at 15 minutes and it was another 15 until we were seated which isn't terrible, but they missed the mark by 100%. We ordered Edamame, sushi for us, and the kids meals. 30 minutes later the Edamame comes. 5 minutes after that, the waitress comes over and says the sushi is going to take a while, do we want her to put the kids order in? Kudos to her for realizing the wait and asking the question, but at this point we've been in the restaurant for 55 minutes and their food order isn't even in yet. We ask her to do so, and then wait 20 more minutes for the kid's food to come out, and the sushi about 5 minutes later.

Keeping hungry kids behaved for an hour and 15 minutes until their food comes tests all my parental abilities, and while I passed this time, I may not want to try again.

I should note, that while most of the tables were full, the restaurant didn't seem overly busy. When we arrived, there was one other family waiting for a table, and at no point did it seem like more than one or two groups waiting. It seems like the kitchen isn't prepared to handle a full set of tables.

We've gotten the rolls there several times which were good, although we just do pickup.

The other dish we had gotten once was beef something, but had a lot of MSG. Makes my tongue swell up so I try to avoid that.

Probably the best Thai around, and sushi is almost on par with Samurai - excellent.
