    Hello Fellow Broadland Residents

Just as the community is struggling to come to terms with Plan 11 & 12
Now there is Plan 13...Please see below for the map as per the LCPS website:
    http://www.lcps.org/cms/lib4/VA01000195/Centricity/Domain/66/Spring%202013%20Dulles_Ashburn%20North%20Boundaries/SCHOOL%20BOARD%20PLAN%2013%204182013.pdf

Seriously? you want to chop off a decade old community whose kids could literally view Mill Run school from their front of the townhomes? I say there is a beautiful tunnel built in - our children could walk/bike across(now that Budget has cut Bus service to both Mill Run and Eagle Ridge from 2013 September onwards)...we are less than a mile from school....when we moved about 10 years back half of Broadlands was wooded area - After getting the honors of Wildlife habitat 25th in the nation - boom - new houses came sprawling and all we have left is the Marshlands and the Nature Centre???? And the Price we pay - Not Be a Part of the School system??? So, Broadland resident woudl like to come to Village Drive just to use the Olympic size swimming pool but our kids cannot be part of the Mill Run and Eagle Ridge school system??? Do these people who come with these plans know what it takes to develop & Foster Childhood Friendships?????

According to the map the new homes which was built years later than DN$$ could attend the Mill RUn School but not Village Brive and Milford Drive - Do they even think before proposing plans - whatever happens to Community Ownership?Man I wonder...who comes up with these Genius Plans???

Well - any body else feeling the pain?:(

Plan 13 was submitted late and will probably not even be in play unless 2/3 of the board agrees to even allowing it to be discussed. At this point it is really between 11 and 12 only.

AprilFlower, if you look at this page: http://www.lcps.org/Page/104720

As you can see, Plan 13 is NOT under 'Active Consideration' and still in the 'Under Review' section. As CMBM stated, it most probably won't even come up for discussion...

Yep, I was there in white.
Salute the members of the school board they listened and weighed in making a great decision!

Irrespective of which plan ultimately got voted we should be very fortunate to be part of this wonderful county!

    God Bless!!!

Love your attitude, April! Things work best when we all get involved. We don't all get what we want (not always, anyway), but I think our chances of getting something that makes sense go up when honest public participation itself goes up.

Jeff Morse's remarks from the dais last night (to the effect that he knew Plan 12 wouldn't make his entire district happy) were very statesmanly in that regard. If every school board member had held out for a plan that made all of their constituents happy, no majority of five would ever have formed. Likewise for those of us affected by these things: when we compromise a bit, our numbers grow, and our voices grow too.

It's always a bit uplifting when the system works.
