On Sunday, April 21, Bikes for the World (www.bikesfortheworld.org) will hold a collection at Spokes, Etc. (20070 Ashbrook Commons Plaza #104, Ashburn, VA 20147) from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Bring your old bikes and a suggested $10 donation (to help defray the cost of shipping). The donated bikes will be distributed overseas, where they will be reconditioned by community organizations to improve the lives of impoverished people by helping them get to work, school, and health clinics. We will provide receipts good for tax purposes for all bicycle and monetary donations.

Remember, a bicycle can get someone someplace…like from poverty to self-sufficiency. Plus, it’s a great opportunity for you to do some spring cleaning in your garage while doing something good for others. We hope to see you there!

Spokes, Etc. accepts used bikes throughout the year and will make sure they get to the right people at Bikes for the World. You can drop your bike off whenever it's convenient for you.

And, if you're interested, Bikes for the World just produced a video highlighting their partnership with Spokes. http://youtu.be/pKQgTAHpEis
