Is it clogged on food disposal side or the non disposal side if you have double sink? Want to help using cheapest method firsts before calling plumber.

Clogged on both sides, when we turn on the garbage disposal it goes down but side two will fill up.

Tried drano/plunger with no luck. Going to look at what they have at Home Depot tomorrow. I'm the other half of this problem...with I was handier :)

    Thanks

    Mike

Oh no! Don't use Drano in the kitchen sink. Have you tried lots of baking soda flushed with lots of white vinegar? Good luck!

Here too, for both the kitchen sink and the food disposal. Dump 1 cup of baking soda then add one cup of vinegar. After 15 minutes pour a kettle of hot water down the drain. This is probably not very useful after you've already made a clog. But it's safer for our drinking water and better for the plumbing.

Yes I used the commercial products...then after your post I saw a lot of the baking soda ideas on YouTube.

Did you try looking for a You Tube how-to video online? Lowe's has many of them, and they have helped me with wiring and minor household dilemmas. Good luck!

You may want to see if you can snake the drain.......or empty the sink and try to use baking soda and vinegar. Try snaking first....

We had Carlos come out...he had to snake the outside pipe, it wasn't something inside.
