Is anyone aware of a program to remove birds and relocate them to the wild without causing the birds any harm? We have a family of birds that have made a next in our chimney.

Please do let us know as soon as possible. That is our preferred method for removing the birds. Thank you.

The Parkers, this is nesting season. If you wait until the hatchlings leave the nest then you can remove the nest and install a wire mesh to prevent it in the future. If you think the birds are trapped then hire a chimney sweep to remove them and install the wire mesh.

Thank you. My husband just informed me that the nest is inside one of the side vents on the side of the house. Too high for us to reach. I will contact a Chimney Sweep and see what can be done.

I would just leave them be until all the babies have fledged. If they aren't bothering you.

Agreed. The side vents are popular with nesting birds but once they leave you can remove the nest without disturbing the babies and then cover it.

We had birds nesting in our side vent and I just cleaned it out today - nasty process. I can be a tree hugger, but once I realized the birds were there, I wanted to get rid of them right away.
In our case, the birds go past the aluminum vent, and then nest in the plastic vent hose just inside the house. So the nest removal all took place in the attic. I'm going to put the mesh over the vent, and that will be the only ladder work.

Connor's Pest Control just replaced all of the vent covers on the side of our house. We had birds nesting in one of them. The standard covers from the builders just can't withstand the sun we get. They just crumpled into pieces when they were being removed. They did a great job and would recommend them to others with a similar issue. Once you notice your vent covers turning into a circle opening time to replace. Those birds were flying right in at warp speed.

Arc Trapping did our house. We waited until after the babies left the nest.
