Just wondering if anyone has had any bullying issues at ERMS. You can send a private message if you'd like.

Yes!! And the bigger problem is there are teachers there that are doing the bullying not just students. When the students see teachers picking on others then they see no harm in what they are also doing.

I can tell you a lot of this philosophy comes from the principle as she has a tendency to bully the staff. I have seen it personally - and have teachers and other admin who have it well documented. I am hopeful that when she leaves that the mentality will revert to what it once was - but I am not super hopeful.

Sounds promising for the folks at Trailside. Not.

Why would they have an under-performing principal open a brand new school?

Are you saying that teachers are bullying and bad mouthing other teachers or are they bullying the weaker/vulnerable kids?

Both but what my daughter is experiencing is the teacher bullying the weaker students. She has one class where she feels she spends the entire time protecting those who will not stand up for themselves and because of it has ended up being in trouble herself.
It has all been reported - all the way up the chain of command but no one seems to want to take responsibility. And they seem to think having the teacher "chat" with me solves the problem

At least you can "chat" with the teacher. I've been told I am not allowed to speak with my daughter's teachers.

They tried that with me - so I started showing up to sit in on the classes. It is a public school and they can not deny me access to my child - amazing how willing they were to talk with me then.

I have never had any issues with communicating with my children's teachers at Eagle Ridge. Who is telling you this? Teachers or administration?

I hope things get better for the kids with the new administration. Sounds like the leadership sucks at this school.

When I was in middle school years ago similar things happened. It is hard for kids to understand that things can get better once they finish the middle school years.

You can always talk to your child's teacher. The fact that the principal is discouraging that is disturbing.

They can't deny access to your child, but certainly can deny having you sit in on class every day.
