I took my car for an oil change to Jiffy Lube about 2 months ago...a little over a week ago we noticed it was "dripping" oil; because of the forum recommendations once again, we found Fallon Automotive!! :) Very good customer service from Mike. We dropped off my car, thinking it would be something very serious and expensive; turns out it was a loose filter. Fallon is very honest and up front....would DEFINITELY recommend them and would return in the future!!! :)

I found Fallon on this board...i always recommend them here, and to anyone who tells me they need any type of work done. They could've really put the screws to me when i accidentally overcharged the A/C in my car...(why i shouldn't have been doing that in first place)...but they didn't even charge for me the diagnostic + fees to fix it...they just fixed it (which was actually cheaper than the diagnostic stuff).

And it's now much easier to get to with the completion of Pacific Blvd. No more winding around behind AOL to get there.

Why didn't you go back to Jiffy Lube for them to correct it? Seems to me that you never gave them a chance to resolve your complaint and now you are here bad mouthing them. But, if you did go back to them and they could resolve your issue, then by all means continue the bad mouthing.

Maybe I should have added that JL gave me horrible service and wanted me to do everything to my car?? :/

Mike Fallon and Fallon Automotive are throw backs to the way businesses used to be run. A time when owners worried as much about integrity and customer satisfaction as they did profit. Thanks to a 'Tater Post' several years back we've been happy Fallon Auto customers and can't remember the last angst filled visit to Jiffy Lube, Goodyear, Virginia Tire, Merchants, Et Al. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, has anyone had an angst filled visit to VA Tire? I've had second opinions on their suggestions and work and they have always checked out for me.

My husband had the exact same issue at Jiffy Lube - loose oil filter and dripping oil. Might be a systemic issue with them if it is happening to many cars. He had a dealer appointment soon after for last minute warranty work so had it fixed there.

Sometimes I take it for granted that I'm on the Internet as much as I am and have accepted certain things as law. For instance, there is a list of companies I will never do business with due to years of complaints and horror stories. Jiffy Lube fits into this category (as does Best Buy Geek Squad, BofA, EA, ATT, etc...). It's telling that Google auto-completes "Jiffy Lube d" as "Jiffy Lube destroyed my car".

Then by all means continue the bashing, there are places around the area that I will not use due to lousy service. As for VA Tire, I haven't had any work done by them but I know they tried to get my wife to spend lots of money on a brake repair that wasn't necessary to pass a VA inspection.

I have had decent service at VA Tire but after reading this thread and another on the board I'm going to switch to Fallon. I've yet to be let down by the recommendations here (especially when 4+ people agree). What is the price of a standard oil change at Fallon?

Funny you should mention that. I brought my wife's vehicle to the a couple of weeks ago and was told that the brakes were ready to go as well. Looks like I'll be getting a second opinion again to verify and keep them honest.
