My neighbors last summer installed an invisible fence for the three yorkies. Everytime I go to the backyard they bark at us all the time. We've called the police but they seem to not be able to do anything. Any Suggestions? We don't know the neighbors at all or ever see them.

Why not use this as an opportunity to get to know them? Go knock on their door and introduce yourself.

I am in no way defending the dog owners, but as one myself for many years,I almost don't hear them anymore when mine bark. Its like white noise. BUT also as a dog owner I would appreciate it if my dogs were bothering a neighbor, that they would tell me. Its going to get warmer soon and they will be spending more time outdoors so I think the problem will get worse. Before you are completely at your wits end, just knock on the door, introduce yourself and explain the situation. It may be resolved with a simple introduction between you and the dogs if you are open to it. Good luck!

We have a dog ourselves. In fact, whenever we let him out in the backyard, we instantly hear the barking dogs. He doesn't bark back. He just pees and goes about his business.

I am surprised a call to the police preceded a knock on the door or at the very least a note/letter. In general, our community (or the people on this forum) seem to jump directly towards reporting people to the HOA, county, and/or the police. I would suggest that all three have better things on which to spend their time and should only be involved after attempts to interact with each other in a civil manner have failed. Just my thoughts.
