Two life flight helicopters landed on Dermott to take two victims after a car hit a motorcycle. Apparently a silver mid size traveling north on Dermott hit a motorcyclist traveling west on Waxpool. That's as much as I could tell from police at the scene. The office also noted that he sold his motorcycle.

Thanks for the update! Was hoping it wasn't a pedestrian; saw the helicopter. Prayers for everyone involved.

Wife who works in health industry says ER's call motorcyclist "Organ Donors".

That's a tricky intersection since drivers are usually speeding on Waxpool. From what I saw, car was at fault. Drive carefully people. Now that it's warm be on the lookout for cyclist and pedestrians.

I tend to call motorcyclists "people." Sometimes "Dad" or "sister." But, hey, folks will have their words too.

This evening while cycling on sidewalk approaching Harris Teeter with the right of way a woman in a white van abruptly made a quick turn in front of me in the shopping center. As I rode past I mentioned you were in a big hurry. She responded " I should of hit you". The best and the brightest of Broadlands...

I sadly assume that the motorcyclists died. Is that correct?

Sometimes healthcare workers develop ways to deal with what they see. If you worked in trauma and saw what they see, you might deal the same way. The risks of motorcycles are abstract to most people not to the people in emergency medicine.

No, thankfully they lived!!! And not seriously or major long term injuries. My sister in law is good friends with them and was at their house the other day.

Just a few weeks before Jaime was hit and killed one block from the bike accident. We all need to watch our speed and be more careful on Waxpool (and all roads), especially as it is nice out and more people are out.
