I have a quick question for townhome owners in the area: my house was built in 2007. I may need to find all the GFIs in the house.

Here is what I could find:

    - 1 in the basement
    - 1 in the garage
    - 2 in the kitchen
    - 1 in the master bath.

Is there another one hiding somewhere?

Do you have one in the main bathroom? I believe it's code.

    Check the furnace room also.

Did you check each GFI outlet by seeing if they have power, and pressing the 'RESET' button on each?

yes. I have one in the main bathroom.
and yes, I checked the furnace, there is no GFI there.
Yes, I checked each GFI outlet, they all have power.

Anywhere else I could look at please? I've even asked neighbors, they are all puzzled.

    I have a mosby townhome.

One GFI can control up to 10 outlets down the line. You can buy a GFI tester at Home Depot for about $10. Instructions are in the box or there is always Utube. Your home inspector should have checked each one.

When i lived in the Broadmoor townhouse, i had an issue one time with the one of the GFI runs in my ktichen. All of the sudden my toaster over and coffee pot stopped working. Turns out the circuit continued out of my kitchen, under the floor, over into my dining room (which was not close). An electrician found a loose wire at the end of the line in the last outlet for the dining room. Craziest (and stupidest) way of wiring. He was puzzled for 30 minutes trying to figure out what was going on--we walked through the house with testers until we found more outlets not working.

Do you still use this electrician and would you recommend him/her?

I actually found him on this board---he was a broadlands resident when i called. I think the hourly rate was $125 or something like that...and when he finished after 45 minutes, he checked out some other outlets for me to use up the full hour. Very impressed.

I've got a single family home, so different design. But I had to hunt for one and finally found it in the basement under the steps in a location you basically have to crawl to access. I checked every wall, and this one wasn't on a wall, but simply on the studs holding the stairs.
