Teenagers shouting obscene comments in Broadlands

Now that the schools are closed, we have the luxury of staying up late, so my wife and 9 year old kid went out for a stroll on the village drive around 9.30 pm. Some teenagers driving white/gray jeep/suv passed by and shouted obscene comments at them (5 letter word starting with P). Is this the neighborhood we want to live in ? Every summer the incidents of vandalism ( my car was egged couple of years back) go up. Parents of teenage kids who have access to the car matching the description above are requested to reign them in, else it will only get worse.

That description probably covers a double digit percentage of cars in Broadlands. Just because some kids shouted pedal at you?

 

Pedal ? Is that how far you can stretch your imagination ?

 

5+ cars were rummaged through on our street looking for money/electronics.... darn kids.

 

name ONE neighborhood ANYWHERE where that doesn't happen... money, zip code and even good parenting don't make teens any less prone to wanting to shock and do outrageous things. come on, be real.

Teen do stupid things. They always have and always will. Most of them will grow out of it. If it were me, I would have said, "those teens are being dumb". and left it at that. Your 9 year old probably hears that and worse at school from other 9 year olds.

Teens are oblivious for sure... my 9 year old is oblivious, and they will do things when they're on their own that they'd never do in front of their parents. All the same though, I'm sorry this happened to you.

That sounds like bullying to me. Stupid teens or not, I thought they were constantly being told/taught that there is zero tolerance for bullying? We know of kids that flipped off the teachers as the buses pulled away on the last day of school. That kid was stupid and has been punished, and not a driving teen yet anyway. But I don't blame you for being disgusted by this. The more parents shrug it off, the worse it will get. Knock out game anyone???
