I am very surprised and concerned that Stone Hollow and Stonestile Pl did not receive any road treatment Tuesday Jan. 6th. In past years local scrapers were out before 8am clearing our local streets. I did not venture out at all because these streets are ice covered. The only clearings appear at spots of driver wear.
Now that we've totally frozen overnight, I suspect this morning's streets will be very dangerous. I am lucky enough to have a flexible job where I can call in late but others may not be as fortunate.

What is the status for our road treatments? Anyone have any information?

Stonestile Place was cleared yesterday by 5pm by the HOA contractor.

Stone Hollow is a VDOT plowed street - give them a call - more people complaining the better

This is now 2 plowable snowstorms in a row (dating back to last year) where I've been disappointed in the response time of the HOA contractor. The one last year was 18 inches so I could at least understand them being backed up since it just takes a while to move all that snow, but Village Dr and the surrounding streets weren't touched for 12 hours after the snow stopped. The one this year seemed to catch everyone including VDOT off guard since they were only calling for a dusting and we ended up with 4 inches, so perhaps the contractor wasn't ready, but the snow stopped mid morning and I saw the plows entering the Village Dr area at 6pm when I was getting home. In both cases, there was little the plows could do about the packed ice from the cars using the roads all day and the roads will be dangerous for a few days to come as a result.

I don't specifically remember, but I feel like it used to be plowed faster. Maybe we should track their performance in case we can use it as leverage when their contract comes up for renewal?

We live on Overland Park and the streets in our development is plowed by the HOA and this time they did a horrable job. Usually they were some of the best streets around. They need to get the roads plowed and sanded and salted so it is not so dangerous around here.

The lack of any follow-up beyond the first night is what made it bad on my street. No sand, unsure if salting was used or would help, nothing to get it down to pavement.

Yet the main roads were bare on the first night for the most part. Mine is VDOT though.. not sure why they never came back through the neighborhoods after their abysmal first pass.

Just wanted to put it out here that it seems that the HOA contractor did much better this snow storm than the last. There were plows through here at 10pm and again at 12:30am. Not sure about the overnight or early morning hours, but wanted to give them credit for an improved performance.
