Looking for reliable service company to repair wet basement. discovered water coming up through the concrete floor through tiny cracks, also outside basement door stairwell drain seems to be backed up. I can see water sitting in it and not draining, water also coming though basement door when stairwell fills up.
came home from vacation a few weeks ago and carpeted tv room was sopping wet.
we pulled up the carpet and padding.
also advice on new flooring and business for that.
    Thanks All!

    Hi elsal,

I highly recommend Drainage & Erosion Solutions, LLC in Reston for your wet basement problem. I had a problem with standing water in my driveway that would seep into the garage-they fixed it with a channel drain and trench to the street. They also shored up some landscaping on the north side of my home and improved the drainage from the gutters. The job was $5,500 and worth every cent. (They charge per liner foot; 50% of the total cost is due when you sign your contract; the final 50% is due at the job's completion.) They do charge a $150 consultation fee that is credited back to your balance if you decide to hire them. My consultant was Sal Kapoor, who walked the property with me and answered all my questions. The company was very responsive; my job was scheduled quickly, and the workers were on time and professional. Additionally, their work is guaranteed for 10 years.

Check out their website at www.DrainageAndErosion.com; Sal's number is 703-473-5590.

    Good luck with your basement!

You've probably done your cleanup already, but if not, I recommend David Novello at First Priority Carpet Care and Restoration. He helped us when our basement flooded and addressed the cleanup and the mold removal. Nice guy and a local business.
