We're looking into getting our trees trimmed, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg to do this. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good tree trimming service, that's a reasonable price? We'd like to get it done before winter. Thanks in advance! :)

We used Freedom Tree Service in the spring to take down a tree plus for trimming another tree, They did a great job and of the estimates we got they were one of the most reasonably priced.

We just used Donegan's. They were very nice and professional and very timely. I've learned the rate is usually around $100/tree for very basic trim- remove lowest branches, and thin out. They bring a big truck that chops up the branches and cleaned up after themselves. I sort of regret having 7 trees done. Prob should have just done the 3 largest due to $$.

Also called JL- never connected after a few tries and appts. Care of trees was a 3 wk wait til they could come look. Another guy came who's estimate was $50 more than Donegan's.
There was a guy in the neighborhood last summer with a truck and another guy, Big Joe. He quoted me $650 and by end of summer was down to $550 but even though he had a business card that claimed he's licensed, bonded, insured and takes credit cards and as much as I'd like to use a small business- which I think I ended up doing- I was leary about injury, clean up, possibly injuring the trees if not done properly etc.
    Good luck!
