    LostSoul,
I'm sorry to hear you weren't happy with your service and apologize for the experience. I'd like to discuss it with you to find out where we went wrong and also to see if we can adjust the invoice for you. Could you contact me when it's convenient for you? My direct number is 571-233-6895 and my email is sswann@climaticva.com.

Hello Sonny, I appreciate that. I didn't have an opportunity to call today but will give you a ring on Monday to discuss it.

    Thanks

we have been using All Tech for years and are still 100% happy with their courtesy, professionalism and honesty in an industry that's full of shady service providers. always done excellent work for us- jut installed a new system recently, great follow up to see how things were, and all has been smooth sailing with them. talk to Abe- tell him the Ventrices sent you!

Thanks for everyone who gave recommendations. I just looked them up on the BBB website and called around to check some prices. Here's a summary of what I found out ICYMBI:

Cascade Comfort Service - recommended on the Broadlands HOA forum. They are BBB accredited and have an A+ rating with BBB.
    - Don't do service contracts. They charge by the hour. She said it generally takes about 45 min for 2 systems and cost about $125 per visit, so that would be about $250 per year.
John Nugent & Sons - recommended on the Broadlands HOA forum. They are NOT BBB accredited, but they do have an A+ rating on BBB.
    - $350 for 1 year contract on 2 systems (upstairs and downstairs)
    - $85.50 diagnostic fee on trouble/repair calls (website claims this is a "special" / discounted rate)
    - 10% discount on repairs.
    - Priority in emergency.
    - Two maintenance visits per year, and they call to schedule / remind us.

Cyprus Air - recommended on Broadlands HOA forum. BBB accredited. Rated A.
    - $88 per MONTH per SYSTEM (x 12 months x 2 systems = $2,112 per year - AYFKM??????)
    - $89 diagnostic fee
Service Specialties Inc (SSI) - recommended on Broadlands HOA forum. BBB accredited. Rated A+.
    - $387 for 1 year contract on 2 systems plus humidifier
    - $99 diagnostic fee (discounted from $119 regular price)
    - 20% discount on repairs
    - Two maintenance visits per year

Ashburn Air was recommended on Broadlands HOA forum, but I can't find any record of them in BBB. SKIP.
Climatic was dissed on the Broadlands HOA forum. They are, however, BBB accredited and have an A+ rating, and their manager responded to complaints on the forum trying to make amends.
Modern Mechanical was dissed on Broadlands HOA forum. They are, however BBB accredited and have an A+ rating.

I'd also recommend A and M HVAC Services. They service and maintain both my primary residence and a rental unit for the last 2 years. A very affordable and reliable service that's very detail oriented.

The BBB is a pay to play scheme vehicle. They're not a government agency nor are they accredited, and contrary to popular belief, they're not a consumer watchdog group. Just buyer beware.

We use Cascades Comfort Services. We have a single zone AC system and they charge $85 per visit to perform a system check on the AC & Gas Furnace. I like using them a lot. Only downside is they are a small company and it can be a month to get them out for non-emergency service. Doesn't bother me as I set a reminder on Outlook to let me know to schedule regular maintenance early.
