I want to share with all of you my experience with Gibb Development LLC ( Barry Gibb). I recently hired him to finish my basement as my wife is due with our second child and we needed the extra space. He offered to provide a “turnkey basement” where all I needed to do was get the carpet installed. It didn’t turn out as promised:

Deceptive contracting:

• Contract included a stand up shower, but apparently that doesn’t include a shower door
  
  
• Contract included a finished bath, but that doesn’t include a vanity mirror or any basic bathroom hardware like toilet paper holder
  
  
• Missing dry wall in closets
  

Poor quality of work:

• Gaps between the dry wall and the basement window
  
  
• Poor drywall sanding quality where I had to get the painter to re-spackle and sand
  
  
• Left a large gap behind the shower tile (~ 1 inch) between the shower pan and the cement board where water might leak through in the future
  
  
• Not all the tiles line up in the shower and bathroom floor
  

What makes it worse is that he claimed to finish the work and then without even scheduling a final walk through, left the job and claimed it was done and demanded final payment

I would recommend you avoid dealing with this contractor

 

I'm really sorry. I'm sure his falsetto also had to be bothersome.
