What is happening on Broadlands Blvd?

Just wondering if anyone knows what is going in, where they are taking down all the trees near Clyde's, and also on Waxpool, across the street from the Embassy Suites. Thanks!

This area won't last long as it did for many years as a low density area.....it'll turn into another Fairfax County...high density area albeit with much higher taxes. I saw in county plans that they are going to build 3 more elementary schools....those schools are going to feed into middle and high schools somewhere...or they'll build more middle and high schools. They plan to also build a senior center, teen center, county recreation center, mental health residential centers, mental developmental centers, trails, numerous new parks, etc. How are they going to pay for all his including salaries to staff them, maintenance Costs, etc, etc. all the while the schools are begging for more money for educational needs. I heard they don't even have enough county police officers. Shouldn't the county instead focus on funding schools and police depts fully first before going off to build these massive CIP items? Just wondering.....

 

I don't get why they are building more commercial space if the commercial space they have now isn't being filled.

I also don't understand what is the hold up with letting people use the entrance to the shopping plaza they built last year. Did they just forget to come back and remove the barrels?

 

it's my understanding that that entrance will be opened when the new light at the other entrance to shopping center is operational
