Please be advised that Patriot Disposal will be closed on Monday, July 4th and no services will be provided. Yard waste will be collected on Wednesday, July 6th. Trash and recycling will be collected on Thursday, per the usual schedule.

Thankfully, tomorrow is Thursday (trash pickup). Several houses have had their trash out since Sunday.

To quote the Broadlands page for Patriot Disposal:
"Patriot Disposal will provide services on all holidays that fall on regularly-scheduled pickup days with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day."

If not having trash pickup on holidays is going to be the "new normal" I'd suggest the HOA send a mailer to ALL the homes in the community that the rules have changed and change the website... not just put up a sticky note or post on a forum that only 100 of us have probably read in all of 2016. I put my trash out in accordance with the HOA guidelines. When no one came, I put it away. The same cannot be said for the people who had their trash eaten by crows and spread across the street outside my side windows. I not trying to rant, just pointing out that misleading information leads to messes.

I happened to see the notice here so I didn't put my trash out, but I wondered when the schedule changed as it's always been pick-up on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. On the other hand, the folks who left their bins out could have inquired with Patriot or checked their website.

We have a string of THs that, for years, were negligent in storing their bins. It was always an eyesore and nothing the HOA said or did made a difference UNTIL, the HOA built a community trash shed for these derelict homeowners. Your HOA fees at work!
