I have already sent an inquiry in. The shopping centers are managed by the Broadlands Commercial Property Association.
They were helpful in getting rid of the derelict vehicles parked in that center, so hopefully they will take care of this.

And I have just sent an email to Patriot Properties, who appears to manage the tenants in those buildings.

" Broadlands Commercial Property Association." These the same annoying people who complain about a little mold on siding; or a trash can left outside?

No, that is the Broadlands Homeowners Association, representing the neighbors who live by the trash cans left out for days, unsecured recycling that blows around on a windy Thursday, weeds taller than a toddler, and other items that don't take long to address in order to maintain nice curb appeal.

Just wondering if the "neighbors who live by the trash cans left out for days, unsecured recycling that blows around on a windy Thursday, weeds taller than a toddler, and other items that don't take long to address in order to maintain nice curb appeal" is lowering my home's value or the mess by Dunkin Donuts.

The last time that the mess by DD was brought to the Broadlands Commercial Property Association, it was cleaned up within days. I bet this will be, too. I wish that was the case for the homeowner items.

I think they give home owners a time line as well before the fines hit no?

Reading the HOA covenants, I found the following information.

If a violation is noted for trash cans, the owner will be mailed a letter providing ten days for the violation to be resolved. If the violation is not corrected, a second violation letter will be issued, providing an additional seven day extension. If the violation remains unresolved, a Hearing Notice is sent and a Hearing will be held in accordance with state law, where charges may be assessed. In accordance with state law, a Hearing notice must be mailed certified, return receipt requested at least fourteen (14) days in advance of a Hearing. If I read the covenants correctly, you have over 31 days to take in your trash can.

Fencing that is leaning, has broken, bent, or missing boards, discoloration or mildew, or other damage should be repaired in order to maintain the integrity and visual appearance of the community. If a violation of this nature is noted, the owner will be mailed a letter providing sixty days for the violation to be resolved. If the violation is not corrected, a second violation letter will be issued, providing an additional fifteen day extension. If the violation remains unresolved, a final notice will be sent, providing seven days to rectify before a Hearing Notice is sent. Therefore, you have over 96 days to remove mildew from your fence.

If your neighbor takes in his garbage can once a month or takes three months to repair his fence, after the issue has been brought to his attention, I think your property value might take a hit.

Too bad there wasn't a camera to record the plates of the illegal dumper.

The management company for the shopping center has contacted Goodwill about the issue. They are requesting removal of the items and the donation box.

Hopefully, it will be resolved very soon.

If you need to donate something, there are two donation sites in Ashburn:

    Salvation Army Donation Center
    44260 Ice Rink Plaza, Ashburn

    Good Shepherd Alliance
    Hope's Treasures Ashburn
    20684 Ashburn Road, Ashburn

True that; it was just convenient to put a couple of times in the dumpster while getting my coffee. While it look really crappy for a couple of days, who ever it was quickly cleaned it up.
