This came in the Nov. library newsletter.

I think the Ashburn library does a fantastic job (I go to the library on Hay Rd.). The interlibray loan system (ILL) is also excellent.

Their new mobile app is also really nice, it makes it easy to renew books that are about to be overdue. It keeps me logged in so I don't have to remember my library card # to do this.

"We are thrilled! A recent ranking by a national publication has named Loudoun County Public Library as one of "America's Star Libraries.”

Library Journal recognized Loudoun County Public Library as one of the best in the United States in its 2016 survey.

Only 3.5% — 260 — of the 7,349 public libraries measured earn the America’s Star Library designation; of the 260 named nationwide, only three are in Virginia.

This rating is made possible by the hard work of all our library staff members and our Board of Trustees, as well as strong support from Loudoun County Government, the Loudoun Library Foundation, and our branch friends’ groups.

In the past fiscal year, more than 6.1 million books and other materials were checked out: an average of 16 items per Loudoun resident!"

I like the library but I miss the days when it was a quiet place. I guess they changed the rules and now libraries are considered community centers instead. I think that is a shame.

I love the Loudoun County libraries. They are full of useful material and well run. I just wish they would build more of them or make future ones larger, as they get very crowded on weekends. I believe the investment is well worth the cost.

The Sterling Library is moving to a larger location in 2017, which will include the second dedicated Makerspace in the LCPL system, and the new Brambleton Library will open in 2018. The Brambleton Library will be two stories, much like the Gum Spring Library with a dedicated teen center, and many study rooms.
