DO NOT USE "Home Improvement Contractor" Marc Dahan, advertising in the Broadlands monthly newsletter. He is not a Broadlands resident and is not licensed for contracting. He has cost me thousands of dollars in repairing his work. He refused my attempts to contact him after he left with incomplete and faulty work. I had to take my case to Small Claims Court, to which he did not show, and I was awarded my judgment (although it will take me much much more effort to ever get the money). I took my legal paperwork to show the Broadlands HOA what had happened and asked them to remove his ads from the newsletter so that my neighbors would not go through the same experience. However, they refused to pull his ads, saying that he had pre-paid for advertising. The classifieds states that Broadlands "reserves the right to reject or cancel any ad at any time" so I cannot believe that they will not pull his ads!

Please help me spread the word. I do not want this to happen to any of my neighbors!

It's really the homeowners responsibility to ensure they have a license, bonded and insured. You can report to Loudoun County police, county agencies that are charged with ensuring they have a license and that they follow the laws and pay taxes on the revenues. I think they would be interested in catching him to prosecute him.

Highly disturbing that the HOA would not pull the Ad of a phony posing as legitimate licensed Contractor!
    Wow! Pretty Sad!
