URGENT: Mega Sized Data Center on Goose Creek

    Yes, the exemption is for the data center operators and builders - not the data center tenants.. (yet tenant spending can be used to count to the threshold criteria). Still don't see how the numbers they boast... match the actual county budget... unless they use fuzzy math and conveniently blend categories when talking about a single category to make it sound bigger.

    I suspect they use all tax revenue derived from the data centers being there to generate the total number.,,,real estate taxes, business equipment taxes, etc.

    I wonder how the county keeps track of the equipment replacements which would change the amount of tax paid by the data centers.

    The only thing that would hinder growth is a land shortage. Unfortunately, this isn't bound to happen in the foreseeable future.

    This one is a double win for the county. The property is currently owned by MWAA, so it is exempt from real estate taxes. By selling it to a private company, the land returns to Loudoun’s tax base and any development on it will pay taxes to the county. Data centers are very tax revenue positive for the county. And I don’t think the airplanes will complain about the noise or how they look.
