Since OB doesn't have a physical address anymore, you can't drop off old cable boxes and they don't have any Saturday pickups available for over a month. Their policy is to charge regular monthly fees until boxes are returned and charge full price for them if not returned in "a timely manner." Does SW HOA have a drop off location? I just started a new job and can't take off during the week.

Per Openband's 10/18/18 email "OpenBand Office at Potomac Club in Lansdowne Closes November 15, 2018"...

    Dear OpenBand Customer,

As you may be aware, OpenBand recently sold a portion of its Loudoun County service network to Comcast. With this sale, OpenBand will discontinue service within the Lansdowne on the Potomac community on November 15, 2018.

This November 15 change does not impact service to the residents of Southern Walk at Broadlands, as OpenBand will continue to serve the Southern Walk community beyond November 15.

With OpenBand’s service discontinuance in Lansdowne on the Potomac, OpenBand will no longer operate a customer service office within the Potomac Club at Lansdowne. OpenBand’s Potomac Club office will cease operations on November 15, 2018.

After November 15, OpenBand will facilitate video equipment transactions via prescheduled technician dispatch appointments.Southern Walkresidents can schedule the pick-up, drop-off or exchange of set-top equipment by contacting OpenBand’s 24-Hour Customer Service team at (703) 961-1110. A representative will assist you in scheduling a dispatch window that is convenient for you.

There will be no charge for the delivery or collection of OpenBand set-top equipment after November 15. This free technician dispatch will include only the delivery and/or collection of OpenBand video equipment. Professional installation and/or equipment disconnect will not be included. If a customer is returning equipment to OpenBand, the equipment should be disconnected and ready for pick-up at the time scheduled. If a Customer would like professional installation of video equipment, this must be noted at the time of request/scheduling and will be subject to the then-current technical support charges.

If you have any questions about OpenBand video equipment, please contact OpenBand Customer Service at: (703) 961-1110.

    Thank you,

    OpenBand Customer Service

Thanks but the problem is that they don't have a drop off location anymore and no Saturday appointments for at least a month. If I had to wait a month, they would charge me the full price of the boxes. I need to find someone who is home during weekdays and who would be willing to let Openband pick up my equipment at their house instead of mine.

Alg, can you box it up and leave it on your porch? i left mine on the porch, in boxes with my name and account number, and made a technician appointment, and they picked it up and left a return receipt. they were very nice about it.

I asked about that and the rep stated that just one of my two boxes is valued at $300 so I didn't want to take that chance.
