Looks like there are still no sidewalks planned on Wynridge Drive on the townhouse side. You can't get to the shopping center from Avonworth without walking on the road. There is not a sidewalk on Wynridge between Avonworth and Claiborne nor Avonworth and the 50+ condos.

It's amazing it takes half a million bucks to design an intersection....

There is a new traffic light at the intersection of Wynridge Drive and Claiborne Parkway, but still no sidewalk on the townhouse side of Wynridge Drive. You still can't walk to Claiborne or the shopping center without walking on the road or crossing the street not at the crosswalk.

Van Metre has an application coming up before the Board of Supervisors that has, along with the Harris Teeter gas pumps discussed on another thread, 2 more age restricted condo buildings on Wynridge. Part of the application is to put in the sidewalk you mention.

Nothing on the Loudoun project site about the 30 data centers in Ashburn

And many more coming! They pay lots of taxes. As an example, my annual county real estate tax bill would be $2100 higher without the data center revenue.

Ok, so you're saying property taxes in the last 5ish years would have gone up 30% without the DataCenter taxes?

Because if they pay so much in taxes.. and the vast majority weren't here 5-8 years ago... and our taxes haven't gone down with all this new revenue... where is all this expense that is new expense+new tax base that equates to 2100 for your property taxes?

Yes, it did. Add 30 cents to the tax rate and multiply that by your assessed value.

What I’m saying is if the BoS passed the same budget, and the data centers were not here, you would have to add 30 cents to the tax rate.
Because of the data center revenue, the Board passed the entire requested budget, which had many significant increases, And this was done at the equalized tax rate.
First time that’s happened in my 22 years here.

It's still misleading to promote new spending as 'tax savings' - because you can't "save" from what you wouldn't have spent.

Since they've so easily pinned $200 million as the expected tax base from these properties... how about promoting what it's been further back, and how much incentives we are giving away?

And how is this 'personal property tax' they claim different from the 'use tax' they've exempted most of these DCs from?

I'm just struggling to find this huge growth in the tax base... when their own budget presentations don't show huge boosts in property values or assessments. Which sounds like "lets claim total value as if it were growth..." which is misleading

    From the budget presentation...
    dc.png

Which shows $8 million in tax base.. which somehow is funding hundreds of millions somewhere else? The math doesn't add up.. or the smoke is super thick

Yet in the full budget... they forecast computer personal property taxes growing more than 104 million just between 2019 and 2020... who can follow this trail when its so conflicting left and right

Not quite sure how to read this chart. With $$ on the left and right hand sides?

maybe that's how they screwed it up... it shows $$ on left , but maybe it should have been on the right.. so left is sq ft, and right is millions in tax.. then the numbers would make a lot more sense
