Had a long call with the service desk rep, who tried his best to reset/push whatever remotely.
Eventually he concluded that the ONT is blown; couple of lights are red.

The next thing I know the earliest time a tech guy can come and have a look is after 48 hours.

    Yes, two days.

Tried my best to persuade him to give local contact I can talk to but to no use as they use a chat tool!

Has anyone gone through similar ?
Any tips to check for resolving by myself?
Did all the restarts , plug/unplug.

The service model is pretty ridiculous.
    It’s like peeling an onion.

    Oh my Openband.....

Same thing happened to me.... turned out the ONT was fine, but my buried fibre connection got cut by an install crew setting up my neighbor. Luckily the Verizon tech made it out to my house the next morning after placing the call and was able to quickly run a temp line which was buried a few days later.

That’s good to know. Hoping someone comes tomorrow as I am placed on some kind of wait list for tomorrow.

The only thing that was happening at the time I lost connection was the landscaping crew working my neighbor’s yard. And this is my first week with Verizon.

Update: The issue was resolved by the tech, who identified that someone working on one of the Ridgeway hubs did not push the wire/pin all the way in.

I had issues again after an hour and it took 30 mins for Verizon (chat support) to resolve. They did some "manual provisioning" - not sure what that meant.
