    Hello Everyone,

Ive noticed that since installing FIOS after a couple of months the speeds really have gone down (<250 of the 800's-900's we are supposed to get). Im wondering if anyone else is seeing the same. Im not complaining as 250 is still a great speed but its not what we are paying for. P.S this is through wired ethernet cat 6 connections, tested both with the original router, with a ubiquiti enterprise router configured without IDS or IPS, and ive tried connecting directly to the ONT with the same result using two different computers. Im pretty sure there are no problems on my end. Let me know if you guys see the same.

    Thank you

I had similar problems. I was only getting about 250 Mbps from my ONT. After some experimentation, the steps below got speeds of over 750 Mbps from my router (using speedtest.net). The idea was to force each device to redo its configuration by pulling the needed information from the device farther upstream, rather than use a previous, saved configuration where some data may have changed.

Unplug the ONT and routers, wait a little bit (10-15 minutes worked for me), repowering everything starting with the ONT and working toward your router. At each step, wait for the device to completely reboot and stabilize; this can take several minutes for each device to boot completely.

    Good luck.

What tool are you using to measure speeds? Speedtest app uses different servers on the backend.

    Signifiers solution also makes sense.

I tried the Verizon web based tool and speedtest via a physical connection (i.e., not wireless). I expected a significant difference (speedtest to be slower) but didn't see one. The point I was trying to make is that if speedtest gives over 750 Mbps, Verizon must be working ok through the ONT, my internal wiring, and my router.
(Note: I used a Surface Pro 6 for the tests. Since it doesn't have an ethernet connector, I used an Anker USB 3 to USB hub/Ethernet adapter. I expected this to impact throughput but it didn't seem to.)

I always speed test using Fast.com cause let's face it. My family only cares about the speeds to Netflix :) Currently showing 1.1 Gbps down and 750 Mbps up with a 6ms unloaded latency and 36ms loaded latency. This is wired to a gigabit switch which is connected to the verizon router
