Any recommendations for a handyman or electrician who can fix our exterior lamp post?
Also, if it needs to be replaced, where did you purchase a new one that falls within the HOA guidelines?

We have already tried resetting the GFI breaker.

After the GFI, the next most likely failure point for the lamp is the light sensor, located on the post body just below the glass enclosure. This can be removed quite easily with a replacement available at Home Depot (as of a couple of years ago.) Be sure to cut off power to the light before doing the removal.

Agreed- I did have to replace my sensor and it as easy peasy....no need to get an electrician unless you clearly are not into doing it. Save a lot of $ and do it your self.

The other issue is with the GFI tripping too often. This can happen if there is a jbox outside that goes to the post and it can get wet and change the impedance in the wires or wire nuts enough to cause the GFI to trip. Just clean the wires, use outdoor wire nuts and replace the seal if needed on the jbox cover.

Also the newer sensors may allow you to use a cfl or led bulb as well.

I use led bulbs in mine (sensor isn't new) and haven't had to change them in 2 years.

Recently I replaced the bulbs in our lamp. They didn't work. The problem turned out to be a lot of junk had somehow gotten into the lamp socket and prevented the new bulbs from making contact. Cleaning the socket out fixed the problem.
(This may not help in this case; I posted it for information about yet a different way for these to fail.)
