Goes without saying, I am driving a lot less, so nature is adapting. Check your engine's, etc. Does not appear he ate any wires, but they will. The squirrel did have a snack in the car -- visible -- and was starting to build a bit of a nest. He was the only mammal seen, so kudos to the squirrel for practicing proper social distancing.

Big props to the family dog, that was climbing all over the front hood and the wheel well this am before his morning walk because he smelled something. Squirrel was relocated to a nice field of clover on the side yard.

Springtime population explosion. Saw a couple of young ones perusing my cedar trees for a hangout.

Be aware.....they will continue to return. I would have used a different form of relocation.

Agree with Cliff. I have been using the Nature Overlook by Harris Teeter for my re-location spot. I use a small animal trap with Peanut Butter. So far this year I have re-located 6 of them. In my case, they climb onto my 2nd level deck and destroy my herb garden, bulbs and flowers....

next time, add a little spray paint on their tail so we know if it is the same one coming back...you may have caught the same squirrel six times.

Yea Mike, I actually thought about that... as an experiment but I think they are far enough away. It made for some funny conversations though as we thought through which color to use....lol

When they become a nuisance... Spending over $1000 to get them out of my attic and make repairs made me think twice. Hopefully, relocating the ones that have developed the habit of ripping up my flowers and herb garden on my deck will work.

You'll never get rid of squirrels even if you got rid of the trees. Have you tried repellents? I used coyote urine to keep the raccoons away and it seemed to work for every critter. And there are many options for potted plants too such as cayenne pepper of peppermint oil, etc. Just a suggestion.

Yea I have a spray that I use too... a critter repellent. I might try something new, thanks for the reminder.

yea that is who we used too, they were great. Their initial cost was good but I had to get them back again for a new round of attack, plus I included the repair costs of drywall and painting...

I have the same problem. None of the natural remedies work. I'm in the process of trying to install full privacy partitions on the sides of my deck as opposed to the current open rail system to impede the squirrels path in. They climb up from the neighbors vines and get onto my deck. It's a slow moving process and nobody seems to be very motivated at the moment :(.

I also have issues with mice getting into my utility closet. Probably through the party wall as I have thoroughly sealed all ingress points I have access to. It is frustrating to say the least.
