Are they planning on opening with phase 1? How will they implement social distancing?

I heard one of the swim teams called off their season.

Northern VA is on a different timetable than the rest of VA. Unless things change again, the stay at home order for Northern VA seems to be in effect until the beginning of June so I am assuming Pools remain closed in Broadlands until that status changes. But lets hear from the HOA?

The word is Virginia is opening up this Friday, May 29. Hopefully the pools will open as well, after all its outside and people can social distance provided they limit the numbers allowed into each pool...

The attached information was emailed out and posted to the home page of the website last Friday. This updates the prior communication that the pools would not open before June 10th. Information changes daily, but at this point we are shooting for opening pools in Phase 2.

Has there been any thought on letting the year round swim clubs use the pools? They have established COVID protocols and I know there are a lot of club swimmers in the community that would love to get back in the water.

So the residents that pay for the pools can't use them but a swim team can? Yea, I'd be against that....

Looks like phase 2 begins in Loudoun County this Friday. Pools can open but for exercise and swim lessons only.

I heard they were only going to open the Southern Walk pool and solely for lap swim. Opening date still to be determined as they are working out issues with the company they use to staff lifeguards.

If that's in-fact what they do; that is very reasonable. So long as the lap swim or any reservation system the HOA implements to ensure fair use is for Broadlands HOA members only; and those who actually registered for the pool with the new admission system can sign-up and use, I have no problem. I'm aware many Broadlands HOA members are on swim teams (present family included) and they are anxious to use the pool for exercise.

Is it not possible to completely open the pools at 50% or 25 % capacity?

Virginia's Phase 2 guidelines only allow lap swimming and swim lessons. No Marco Polo, unfortunately, until possibly Phase 3.

The HOA has been quiet on when the one pool will re-open even if only for lap swimming. I'm guessing two more weeks?

HOA folks - what’s the latest? We opening our pools? The last we heard you’d be following the County PRCS guidance, and they’ve said:
“Outdoor pools are open for lap swimming, fitness programs and exercise Friday, June 19, at 50% occupancy or 50 people, whichever is less. Reservations will be required.”

    Thanks in advance.

Will our pools change in Phase 3?
I see brambleton pools have made plans for recreational swimming. Are we still following PRCS pools?

We are working out the various details and will post an update as soon as available, but we do expect to open for free swim with limited capacity to maintain 10ft physical distancing in Phase 3.
