Hey- Am experiencing VERY poor internet speeds today. I've been noticing that the internet speed has been slowing down a lot lately and went into https://downdetector.com/status/verizon/map/ to check where the outages largely are....The Wash DC Corridor and Broadlands area are impacted.

My download speed has dropped alot down to 130Mbps download and 116Mbps...Pretty poor compared to some time ago.....Since we have 1GB ....shouldn't we be getting Significantly HIGHER numbers compared to this?

I noticed issues with my DL speeds dropping to 60 mbps. That was a few days ago. Ran numerous tests again and see that my DL speeds are back up to around 260 mbps (wireless devices).

Today, my download speeds (Wired) are pretty dismal...its running around less than 300 MBPS....wonder why even though my upload speed is very good...What the heck is causing a slowdown in the download speed?

Note: this is not for wireless....its WIRED.

Are we being throttled or ?

Figured out what was causing the low speeds....I bought a new Cat 6 line...the older Cat 6 line was probably worn out....I tested both lines and with the new Cat 6 line, it brought back up the download speeds. Verizon highly recommends we use Verizon speed test page as it isolates network and device separately .....

Verizon is really slow here in Southern Walk. There seems to be issues in the North East corridor.

There is a large fiber cut in Brooklyn, NY that is causing peering issues all the way up/down the east coast. This is affecting MA, PA, NY, MD, DC, VA, etc. Issue has been identified and techs are working on it. No ETA, but I would hope that they might be able to route around the cut, but that could take a bit of time to propagate...

If you have Xfinity Comcast I highly recommend calling them to see if you have the latest router. You can get the latest for a free exchange by driving to the Xfinity store in One Loudoun. My internet connection was shutting off daily and I had slower speeds. It hasn't shut down once with the new router and the speed is much faster.
