We recently moved into SW and the house had ceiling and outdoor speakers that were installed by the builder. What do I need to do to start streaming my music from phone through those speakers?

First locate the input for said speakers, then attach a bluetooth receiver to the input.

Assuming this is a Van Metre model (which it likely is), my builder installed speakers were all linked to a volume control and a then terminated at a place where you should find speaker posts as part of a multimedia outlet or next to one.

There should be a volume control knob near your door that exits near the outside speakers. That is how you would control the volume for those speakers. There would also be a similar knob control in the room with the ceiling speakers.

If you want to use your phone, you need some kind of bluetooth or wifi device that will receive your audio signal from the phone that would have the ability to connect to the speaker terminals in the house that are connected to you home speakers.

Make sense? You could use an existing stereo receiver, assuming it has bluetooth built in.

    Thanks Zeratul!

you are right, it’s a Van Metre home and I do have those volume control knobs in the places you mentioned. Do I need an amplifier?

Yes you will. I would suggest buying instead wifi enabled speakers for better sound and more reliable connectivity.
