Tick Season is upon us

Seeing an unusual amount of ticks a lot earlier than expected this year in our neighborhood, nearby parks and on local trails. Does anyone have any product recommendations/suggestions for tick spray for pets& humans? Do we know if the hoa treats the common areas?

Just wanted to share our experience, pulled 5 lone star ticks off us& our dog yesterday alone. So frustrated that even contemplating ways to start a possum protection/awareness program to help control the tick population . Weird animal fact of the day, a single possum can eat 5,000 ticks a year.

 

HOA does not treat the common areas. Cost would be prohibitive.

With winters becoming warmer, pests like ticks and chiggers will be around in greater numbers. If you want a non-toxic remedy to repel ticks try sulphur powder. Put some in a thin sock and hit it on your shoes and pant legs when you go out. It's an old time remedy.

I had one opossum visiting my bird bath at night until a neighbor's roaming dogs killed it. I haven't seen another one since then but I keep watching for them.
