Looks like summer is here and the kids are restless after being cooped up all year. Below is a LCSO incident reported on Saturday night across the street from Lidl and Parallel:

    06/26/2021 9:13 PM.
    21300 block Shady Wood Terrace.
Breaking and Entering / Destruction of Property: Deputies responded for a report of a large party where numerous juveniles were destroying property at a vacant residence. When deputies arrived no juveniles were located, but there was extensive damage to the residence. This case remains under investigation. SO2100010313

This former Miller and Smith model townhome was recently sold and temporarily vacant between the seller move-out and buyer move-in. Welcome to the neighborhood. Time to call your insurance company.

I’m sure, if the parents of juveniles, knew about kids going to the party, probably are telling their kids to keep their mouths shut in an attempt to avoid responsibility for it because the parents don’t want to be financially responsible for the damages. (I’m sure the parents don’t want to stomach the thought of how much damage was done to the house.).

If the parents are aware of the fact their kid(s) are involved in this fracas, I hope the police and the DA charges the parents with being accessory after the fact AND that their neighbors who are not part of it SHUN them for being part of this criminal act.

I hope these parents have the b*lls to turn their kids in if their kids were found out to be involved in it. I’m sure their parents are going to help their kids avoid being caught by providing an alibi.

Again, this is Loudoun, wealthiest county in the US, where money can buy a VERY good attorney. There is a term for this malady here if people have forgotten all about it: affluenza. Check the link below.

After all, it doesn’t surprise me that these kids and their parents don’t want to take the responsibility for their actions. Parents are scared their kids will get in legal trouble that can harm their chances of getting into a good college nowadays- they just have a lot to lose by turning in their kids. *Shrugs* Cops will catch them sooner or later- loose lips will reveal who they are. Always happens when non- participants learn who was there.

I find it funny that the same kids that did the damage would be VERY upset and angry if someone else damaged their parents’ home but doesn’t think anything is wrong with damaging another person’ home as long as it’s not theirs. SMDH.

First world social problems as one of my sociology professor says long ago.

Terrible way to welcome a new family into Broadlands. I hope they realize that not all Broadland residents are like this.
