The parts of my metal railing that encloses two sides of my front porch that goes into the cement is rusted out and I'd like to replace them. Is this something I can pick up at Home Depot or do I have to have a company come out and replace them?

Honestly, I'd just prefer to take them out, but assume the HOA would frown upon that. In any case, thank you all in advance for the advice!

One way to repair is to scrape off the rust and insert a rod on the bottom and re-secure using shoes. To avoid rust in the future, be sure to fill in the area/indention with quik crete before putting the shoes on.

Plenty of homeowners have removed the rails. The biggest obstacle depends on how high off of the ground your porch is.

I think the code for a railing is two or more steps.
