Kudos to our local station for not raising their price a single penny during this "gas shortage" last week.

They are now one of the most expensive in the area at $3.63 a gallon it's $3.39 at Exxon by old Giant, Harris Teeter and Royal Farms.

They have always been higher than other stations around.
When other stations exploited an opportunity to massively increase prices, this station did not.

So does that make it alright that they are charging $0.24 more per gallon? I guess they don't have to "massively increase prices" when their prices are so far out of market to begin.

They can charge whatever they want. I rarely buy gas there because they are usually expensive.
My point was that at a time when other gas stations were massively increasing their prices to exploit a situation, this was the ONLY station in the area that didn’t.
Because of that, they were actually 20-30 cents a gallon less than the other stations around.
I gave them credit for that. You apparently don’t.

You both are raising valid points. The gas station didn't raise prices during the prime time of the pipeline issue - great. However, besides that week, they are usually far higher than the other gas stations - not great.

The Truro Parish gas station seems to do well for the neighborhood during adverse times. In addition to the pipeline issue, I recall them being a go-to station before and during the big snowfall that shut down the area for a few days. There weren't as many nearby gas stations during that snowfall, and they were stocked with fuel.
