I was wondering if anybody has had their entire house resided and in the process used Tyvek to wrap the house. I know we will need HOA approval if we move forward, but just wondering as we are considering house residing and window upgrades at the same time.

Yep. Did it last year. Our house was built in early 2000. No housewrap and glorified cardboard for sheathing.
Resided the whole house and they also wrapped it. Newer siding also has a layer of insulation but into it. We also added stone to the front facade as well.
Not a cheap proposition, but worth it.

Same here. Back in 2015, I found out the house had no moisture barrier when the patio door was replaced. When it came time to replace the windows on the North side, they added Tyvek and insulated siding. Fortunately, there was no damage or mold on the ply board.

Cliff, who did you use for the residing efforts? Did you use Hardie Plank siding? There appears to be a lot of firms who will install but I also want an good inspection of the framing before reinstalling as I have suspicions that one area may need some repair.

I re-sided with vinyl. Quality of vinyl siding has gone up quite a bit. Thicker, 7 inch reveal, and it has an insulation layer built into the back of it. It gives the siding more rigidity and it is noticeably quieter.
Happy to discuss the project further with you.
PM me and you can swing by and I can show you some extra pieces of the new siding product.
I used Windows on Washington. They also replaced my windows and doors.

No Hardie Plank. We hired Paul Henry to do the installation.

I had Tyvek done when the house was built in 99. But I have always wanted to reside it with the cement siding. No wonder vinyl has gotten better. Lots of new products to compete with now.

I like the idea of the cement board siding. Anyone else have experience with it?
