What can be done about noisy neighbors?

I have usually enjoyed all the forums and had found them informative, educational, supportive and fun. Now I'm finding myself withdrawing not only from participating but even wanting to read them as they are rapidly going downhill. I'm not referring to just this thread but start browsing many of the other threads. What kind of a message does this send out about the neighborhood and residents of Broadlands? How much effort does it take for one to be positive and supportive of others? We can all criticize and do it very well and seems like this is being done without any foresight on the consequences of arbitrarily posting the words. Is this happening because most residents feel secure and anonymous behind their screen name?

Whether the issue at hand is noisy neighbors; bad drivers; solicitors; people not picking up after their dogs...okay...identify the problem and then be constructive in offering suggestions. Whining and moaning just perpetuates itself.

Come on....enough is enough! Whose posting here? Adults or children?

The weather is starting to be so beautiful and this is the time of the year for everyone to get out, enjoy, smile at one another and be appreciative!!!

 

That's why there are legal definitions for loud and time restrictions for actually being considered disturbing the peace. That's why I asked the question, if her windows are closed and she still hears the noise then yes it's a problem. Obviously that's not the case here though and this is just another case of someone complaining about nothing. If it were a valid complaint and adult would talk to the neigbhor instead of hiding behind a message board.

And please stop perpetuating the wives tale of "my baby is sleeping". It's called "sleep like a baby" for a reason. The real complaint is from tired mothers that can't sleep well, not the children.

 

Mearen, I've had enough of your comments! Did you not notice the discussion was over? If you don't like a persons question, comment, suggestion or whatever...just ignore it! From reading some of your other posts, it appears you like to start crap with people. I'm sorry that you don't have better things to do! Life is too short to act that way! I hope you find some hapiness soon!

hazy, Mearen has every right to state his/her views on the issue and point out things that perhaps others haven't noticed before. So do you. You should be just as upset with yourself as you are with Mearen. If you're going to post something here or anywhere else, be prepared to hear opposing views. C'est la vie. But please stop attacking people about totally irrelevant things that you presume to be true about them.

Just walk over to your neighbor's house, calmly explain why you're upset that their music is too loud when your windows are open, and try to find some form of resolution.

 

I did not attack Merean anymore then you just attacked me. I expressed my thoughts, views, opinions, whatever you want to call it but I attacked nobody! Apparently, I'm not allowed to because I get scolded for it. Well, whatever! I am certainly not upset with myself. There's no reason for that. And, that's MY opinion which I am entitled to!

It's not easy for some to confront individuals and especially neighbors about a personal and sensitive situation/issue without wanting to offend. Therefore I don't blame Hazy at all for addressing the issue and seeking suggestions and advise from this forum. I'm sure we can constructively help her out here!
