All.. My family is moving this summer and will be selling our home. Its a Van Metre Fitzgerald in the Overlook section (top of the hill - with great views of Dulles Airport and can see all the way past Tysons). Homes here sell before they get to market so if you know anyone who may be looking drop me a line and I can share some of the details.

    Just FYI for now..

    Email is jwhite@bluecanopy.com

I'm not so sure that is a selling point. :)

Ha true.. But everyone who comes over always comments on the lights.. During the day the planes seem to stop in the distance and just hover.. And on 4th of July we can sit on the porch and watch 10 firework shows from Reston to Herndon and Sterling etc..

Ok so its no Niagra Falls :)

I just don't know if we should trust this JWhite guy... he seems a little squirrely to me! ;) I am sure that his view of Dulles is easily trumped by my view of my neighbors siding!

Oh yea.. A sprinkler system for entire yard and all the landscaping.. I was so so so tired of lugging hoses around every year and with all the landscaping it was becoming a killer..!

Everytime I crest the hill on Truro Parish heading East, I just wish I could afford a house on the hill with a view of Dulles. I grew up around airplanes and could spend many a summer afternoon watching planes takeoff and land....

Ahhhh, the dreams.... For now, I'll settle for the view from the third floor of my townhouse.

I just wanted to point out that Etty Burton is no relation.
    I'd never mis-use this board :)

I personally know Etty and know that she does not use the boards often and would not have been aware that her posting could have crossed a line. I also cannot blame her if on seeing someone advertising their home to let them know that as a Broadlands resident, she is available. Granted, this could have been done via a private email but she probably was not aware of how to use that option.

jwhite1347 - So how much you want for your home? I'm curious cause I'm looking to upgrade. Was going to wait for Moorefield but I may just put in Broadlands - starting to like it here after 5 years.

Post the address or picture of the place. THE most important question is "how many garage spaces"? I'm looking for no less than 3. No need to reply if you have only 2. Thanks.

We live in the NV section of the Overlook and for some reason, the houses that get listed sell very fast, even at very high prices. Our neighbor just listed their house at about $820k and sold in two days (unfinished basement), gee must have been underpriced....[:0], I think the Van Metres in the Overlook start off in the high 800s to low 900s, all the houses in the overlook are nice and the smallest lot you will find is over 1/4 acre in size. I think most the Van Metre lots start off larger than that, if Im not mistaken. The view out into Sterling and the airport is very nice, contrary to some others beliefs. It is actually very quiet up on the hill and I have been living there since 1999 when new construction first began. I couldnt think of moving at all, we love it a lot.

Indeed on the comments on the overlook. That house that sold in two days you mentioned was also the smallest model NV sold I believe. But you are right it is a very nice section - it was actually sold as an "upscale Van Metre" location. So all the homes came standard with a bunch of extra stuff - archtectural shingles, upgrated kitchens, etc.. I havent seen homes last more than a day here either...
